CDI Specialist (Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist)

R.A.M. Healthcare Consulting Group (R.A.M. HCG) is seeking an experienced Acute Care Inpatient Hospital Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (CDI-S), in the Northern California Bay Area.

THIS IS A 24 WEEK ASSIGNMENT. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION AND MUST HAVE CALIFORNIA RN LICENSE. WORK SCHEDULE IS MONDAY THRU FRIDAY START TIME: BETWEEN 07:00 AND 0830.

Key Responsibilities:
– Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
– Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure it accurately reflects the patient’s clinical status.
– Utilize APR-DRG and MS-DRG systems to assign appropriate codes and ensure accurate reimbursement.
– Monitor and report on Patient Safety Indicators and Readmissions to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines.
– Provide education and training to healthcare providers on documentation best practices.
– Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation to identify areas for improvement.
– Work closely with the coding and billing departments to ensure accurate coding and billing practices.
– Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines, CMS regulations, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:
– California RN License
– Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
– Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) REQUIRED.
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical documentation improvement.
– Strong knowledge of APR-DRG, MS-DRG, Patient Safety Indicators, Readmissions, and CMS guidelines.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (EHR) and coding software.

Working Conditions:
– This is a temporary, full-time position.
– Work will be performed on-site at 1101 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA, 94109.
– Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, Start time 0700 to 0830.
